Dana Careless is a mental health expert, trained clinician, and highly skilled project leader. Drawing on both lived experience and professional expertise, she seeks to eradicate the stigma associated with behavioral health challenges. She brings over a decade of experience in direct care, operations, managed care, teaching, and administration. She specializes in managing complex, high-profile initiatives and has been recognized locally, nationally, and internationally for her work.
Careless is the director of operations and strategy for the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention (Action Alliance). She previously served as the project director for the Mental Health and Suicide Prevention National Response to COVID-19, an Action Alliance initiative.
Before joining EDC, Careless was a consultant and an adjunct faculty member at Chestnut Hill College. For 11 years, she held leadership positions at the Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services.
Careless holds an MS in Counseling and Clinical Health Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, with a certificate in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. She received a BA in Psychology from Loyola College.
