U.S.VETS and EDC to Lead New Initiative to Assist Women Veterans

In response to a growing awareness of trauma, sexual assault, and mental health concerns faced by women in the U.S. military, a new initiative is designed to reach out to women veterans and connect them with services and resources specific to their needs. U.S.VETS and EDC will lead Women Vets on Point, a new program funded through a consortium of Southern California foundations.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has awarded EDC a $33.9 million contract for a new four-year program in Liberia to provide relevant, flexible, and quality education opportunities for out-of-school children and adolescents, enabling them to pursue additional education, training, or potential employment.

A new report describing the progress of U.S. states in achieving 10 policy priorities for improving and expanding K–12 computer science (CS) education was released today at a national workshop led by Google, EDC, and the Massachusetts Computing Attainment Network (MassCAN) on Google’s Cambridge campus.
